Many of you are scared of AI because you don’t fully understand it.  You may have used chatgpt or one of the other generative learning models but you haven’t gone further to really understand its use cases.   But here’s the thing.  AI is here to stay and in order to be competitive and remain competitive in the workplace you need to understand AI and how it can be used.  This will also give you a major leg up if you can add these skills to your resume and talk about it in the interview.  This is the number one question that we get given we use AI and we use it in our interview software.   And people are generally uncomfortable with the topic if they feel they are not an expert.

You may be thinking there is no way you can build this skill in a short period of time but you may be surprised at how fast you can build an understanding of how to use AI in your daily activity to make you more efficient.

This starts with gaining an understanding of what AI is and is not.  Where does AI fit into modern jobs and what tasks or role can AI assist you with?  Part of this is giving you the language to speak confidently about it and then you want to actually experiment with these actual AI functions.  Play and test them out.   Generally speaking AI assists us with the automation of repetitive tasks but it can also help us to do other things that are more time consuming.  AI helps us to….Automate, ideate, communicate, create, visualize and analyze.

Here is a list of specific tasks I recommend you experiment with. Once you do that you will have gained a real understanding of most of the baseline use cases for how AI can be used at work and you will feel much more comfortable talking about AI and using it in your day to day life.

Here are the tasks:

  • Idea generation and brainstorming

  • Writing, editing and communication of emails, scripts and including things like tone

  • Generating research for a project

  • Report generation and summaries

  • Creating presentations

  • Creating videos

  • Creating graphics and logos

  • Meeting minute notes and transcriptions

  • Data processing, comparison and data presentation and visualization

  • Organize routines and work system automation like follow ups, reminders and tasks

At the end of this process I want you to give yourself an AI confidence certificate!! You are going to feel so good having learned these new AI skills and likely will be blown away at how it helps you in your life and at work.

Now, remember, the focus of this lesson was to give you the language and knowledge of AI so you can use this in your credentials and talk about it in your interviews.  Employers are looking for people who are CURRENT and know how AI works.  It is the new, must-have skill to stay relevant and competitive.

So go ahead and get started!
